Settling In
Things are coming together well. God has provided us with a great house and we are getting settled in quite nicely. The house is in a good location, has three bedrooms and has a good sized yard for the boys to play in. Sandy is doing a great job homeschooling the kids and they both really like it. They seem to be adjusting pretty well so far, but they really miss their grandparents. Please keep them in your prayers.

This is the motto on the seal of the United States. Originally the meaning was intended to show that out of many states, the country is one nation. I like to believe too that, in a way, America is made up of people from all over the world. I am incredibly privileged and thankful to say that in two weeks I will take the oath and finally be a US citizen. I will become one of the many that make up with beautiful nation.

We’re awaiting our letter with the date for Sandy’s citizenship ceremony, we were just informed that it is in the mail, so we’ll know soon! We are getting closer and closer to being back in Namibia! As the time approaches, we have some very specific needs coming up.
First, we will need some start up funds for our return. We had to get rid of much of our furniture, appliances and one of our cars before leaving last year. We’ll also have airfare & visa expenses when we get back. Our total estimated return expenses are $18,700. We have been saving toward this & have had some very generous friends and churches help already. We currently have $11,800 set aside, leaving us with a remaining one-time need of $6,900. Next, we are still a bit short on our monthly needs, but we are getting close! We just need another $547 in monthly commitments to be at 100% support for the first time! This would mean a full ministry budget as well as the ability to begin a retirement plan. We really hope to reach this goal before returning to the field in the coming months. Namibia Trip Report 2018
David was recently in Namibia from July 2nd through 19th & was able to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. He went with the goal of checking up on the ministry, working out some difficulties with the cafe & to lay some groundwork for the Echols family’s return to the country.

Sheryl has been a key member of our first Thrive community from the beginning. From the time we met her she has shown great potential, loyal friendship & true sincerity. We have had the opportunity to share with her in her trials and tribulations, as well as in her accomplishments and triumphs. Sandy was able to guide her through her pregnancy and the birth of her beautiful daughter, Ivy. In all of this, Sheryl was slow in making a decision to surrender all to Christ.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and are looking forward to the new year! For us, it was wonderful to have an almost white Christmas in Colorado with our American family. Here is a quick update on our last couple of months.
We’ve spent a lot time in the car! In the last six weeks alone we have covered well over 3,500 miles & still need to return to Missouri from Colorado.
