Please pray for Namibia, the pandemic crisis has reached new heights here. While much of the world is beginning to move into a post-pandemic reality, Namibia is getting hit hard for the first time. Our numbers are among the highest in the world (per capita) and our medical systems are overwhelmed. Our hospitals are full, there is a shortage of oxygen and critical care equipment and the morgues are operating beyond capacity. As a result, people are unable to get the treatment they need and our death rates are unusually high.
Right now more than fifty people we know are COVID positive and we have lost three in the past week. One was one of our Thriver’s grandmother and the other two were from our church. We have two other close friends who lost family members this week and we still have one from our church in ICU. COVID is currently running rampant in every circle of relationships we have.
In response, the government is locking us down again. Schools are closed, curfew is in effect, gatherings of ten or more are banned and no one is allowed to move in or out of our city. Our programs are temporarily suspended again, and everyone is being asked to stay home.
Please pray for our country, it is heart-breaking to see such devastation. Here is a list of things you can pray for:
Thanks for your prayers!
You all are in our prayers. We will be banning together in prayer and covering you all, pleading the blood of Jesus. May God be with you all and you find some comfort and peace knowing He is the ultimate physician and our Father will never let anyone suffer in haste. Gods bless you all and we will keep praying through this and long after. You’re in our hearts. Amen
We will certainly pray for you guys and your country. God is this world’s only hope, but He loves us and will be with us in the hard times.
Sending much love and many prayers
